Home of the Lego House Pt. 2
Once the plane ride was done, it was off to our air b&b in Billund where we would be staying for the next 3 days. It was a little way away but eventually, we made it to the farm. Our first look was memorable since the first thing we saw was a dead cow getting lifted my a claw into a truck. At first the claw couldn’t get a grip on the cow but eventually, it got a grip of it and lifted it into the truck bed. Though now the claw couldn’t seem to get it off so it just giggled all around till it eventually got it to release and drove off to who knows where.
After that semi-scaring moment, we drove up the driveway to the air b&b where we were immediately greeted by a super sweet, cuddly puppy. She stole my heart right there and then. Even though she was soaked, she still managed to get me to pet and snuggle her. After a few moments, the hostess came out and showed us around the air b&b. It was super large with large rooms filled with plenty of goodies. The place was even warmed by cow milk which I found astounding. Eventually, we got over the fact the building was warmed by milk and managed to settle in and get some rest for the following day, the Lego House day.
Once we woke up, it was time to head off to the Lego House. The car trip seemed to go on forever even though in reality, it was only a couple of minutes. Once we arrived, I busted out of the car and ran towards the Legos. It took only a couple of minutes for us to reach the Lego House from the Lego House parking lot. The building was massive, shaped like a giant pyramid. It even had steps that went all the way from the bottom to the top, at the top having a giant Lego brick. Once I and my dad had climbed all over the building, it was time to head inside which was even more outstanding. The front center of the building was a giant Lego tile made of a bunch of smaller lego tiles created by kids. They even had a Lego producing machine in the far back corner making lego bricks for kids to use. Not only did they have the machine, but they also had a restaurant using Legos to order and serve the food.
Though once we had gotten over the first floor, it was time to climb up the spiraling stair case going up next to the Lego tree, made of thousands of Lego bricks. The Lego tree had carvings of the Lego creator's initials along with a bunch of other memorabilia that only some true Lego fans would understand. We managed to spend a good amount of time looking at the tree, though eventually, we managed to get over it and climb to the top. Then all hell broke loose in my brain. At the top where even more stunning Lego creations from giant Lego dinosaurs to a machine that would produce pixelated faces of people looking into the camera. There were even small creations from a small coral reef to moving Legos using bionics.
Spending at least 30 minutes or so at the top, we had to decide where to go next. There were 4 different areas, the blue area, where you could make models and use a camera to put them on your Lego account, the red area, where you could make whatever your heart desires, along with the green area where you could look at crazy Lego creations, and the yellow area, where you make yourself a small lego movie. We decided to start with the green area where we saw some amazing lego builds. Most of them were scenes like the fair on a volcano with pirates and a bunch of Indians on the other side. There were so many more amazing scenes that I could talk about but I’ll let the pictures do it for me. The next thing we did was build some lego creations throughout the color spaces. From building a small bug to building a car that could jump a hoop, it was all pretty spectacular.
Though after a while we started to get hungry so we walked down to the bottom to get some food at their restaurant. At first, I thought it was going to be just any regular restaurant with a couple of legos here and there but boy was I wrong. A waiter took us to our table where we weren’t greeted by menus, but by legos. Now you might be wondering how a person is to order with legos. Well, I can tell you ordering was super simple. On the table their was a piece of paper (Not a menu, but a piece of paper) telling you what each Lego stood for when it came to the food. (Okay, it was a bit like a menu) You would then take the Lego pieces on the table and build a flat Lego creation, using the Legos that you wanted. You would then put it in a card like piece that came from a computer and put it into the computer where it came from. It would then scan the Legos and send a message to the chefs, telling them what you wanted. Then after a few minutes, a Lego box/trey would come down a sort of escalator and ride down to a pickup area where two Lego machines would serve you your food, not to mention wave, spin, dance, and do all sorts of amazing things. Once we grabbed our food from the Legos, we sat down to eat an okay meal, though the real reason we came wasn’t for the food, but the experience.
Eventually, we finished our food and headed back up to keep exploring. The first thing we did when we came back up was make a small Lego movie. Now you might also be wondering how we did that, after all, Legos can’t move or talk. It was pretty simple. You would grab your Lego characters and props and place them in front of a camera and then click a button, making the camera take a photo. You would adjust the Lego in the next moment position, then take a picture and repeat those steps until you got the movie you wanted. Finally, you added some sound effects and a finishing screen and your movie was good to go.
